Anne Stokes takes punt on Redcar ICI site as £100m data centre

Anne_Stokes_StreamwireAn application has been lodged for planning permission to build a data centre on the former Redcar ICI site. The company behind the application is ST2.

ST2 is a limited company formed 19 months ago by IT consultant and Streamwire boss Anne Stokes, who is also on the board of governors at data centre industry association, Data Centre Alliance.

If successful, the plan is to build a £100m data centre on the site.

Stokes said the data centre would be environmentally sustainable and create up to 400 jobs in the area.
