The Associations for Decentralised Energy (ADE) and Conservation of Energy (ACE) are to merge.

The announcement was made at the ADE’s heat conference in London.

Combining the two groups “gives members a stronger voice and much clearer representation … for decentralised energy and energy efficiency across the industrial, commercial, public and domestic sectors,” said ADE chief Tim Rotheray.

ACE chief executive Joanne Wade said the merger creates a “more powerful voice for members and means we can better help government in realising its decarbonisation ambitions.”

Speaking at the conference, Siemens UK boss, Juergen Maier, welcomed the move, suggesting energy efficiency and conservation requires stronger focus within policymaking.
