Vauxhall claims its first all electric van will do 188 miles on a single charge.

The carmaker opens its UK order book in June for the Vivaro-e, which will be built on the same factory line as combustion engine Vivaros.

The larger of its two battery options (75kWh and 50kWh) delivers the 188 claimed miles. The smaller up to 125 miles, based on the WLTP test cycle.

The van is limited to 81mph to preserve battery life.

A Vauxhall spokesperson said first UK deliveries are scheduled for September/October, with further detail announced next month.
