Equans has delivered one of the largest EV charging car park installations in the UK, at a NatWest office in Edinburgh, featuring 264 sockets.

The 7.4kW Alfen dual socket chargers at the Gogarburn Campus are powered by Equans’ GeniePoint platform and are available for use by NatWest colleagues, customers and visitors.

It comes as part of a five-year deal, where Equans has been appointed to support the installation of EV charge points in 15% of parking spaces across NatWest buildings by 2025, all of which will be powered by renewable electricity.

To date, a total of 325 sockets have been installed.

Locations have been strategically selected where the demand is high, and power is readily available.

The partnership not only enables NatWest to support their colleagues to make the switch to EV, but also their transition to a fleet of 300 EVs.

Dee Humphries, Director of EV Solutions at Equans UK & Ireland said, “The chargers will provide convenient charging for NatWest colleagues, customers and visitors at Gogarburn, helping to remove barriers to EV adoption and supporting others in the transition to EV.

“The installation marks a significant achievement for Equans, as we continue to support one of the UK’s biggest banks with their journey to electric vehicles.

“It’s fantastic to see NatWest setting an example for others to adopt more sustainable transport measures, and this installation is a testament to their commitment to a greener future.”

Judith Cruickshank, Scotland Chair at the Royal Bank of Scotland, said, “Realising our ambition for Net Zero requires a systemic shift in energy use, in sustainable thinking and action.

“With this investment at Gogarburn, we are supporting our colleagues to be able to make those changes as stress-free as possible.”
