Electric vehicle charging company Engenie will install 12 rapid (50kW) chargers in Cardiff as the city aims to reduce air pollution. Cardiff Council has modelled major road links in the city centre, and said the partnership with Engenie will help ensure air quality remains within legal limits. The package is fully funded.
Meanwhile Gridserve, which aims to build a network of super fast charging forecourts around the UK, has submitted planning permission for its first development at Braintree, Essex.
The application includes 24 charging bays able to deliver up to 350kW, dedicated zones for fleet and heavy goods vehicles, plus retail and an airport style lounge, according to the company.
