Helm review: Government seeks business views

0

The government wants views from businesses, consumer groups and others on Dieter Helm’s review of energy costs.

Published last month, the report put forward a number of recommendations ranging from streamlining subsidies for renewable and low carbon power, to more fundamental market restructuring. He also suggested implementing a carbon price across the economy.

The department for business, energy and industrial strategy would like views on the review, and suggestions on other matters that should be taken into account when setting out energy policy.

The call for evidence asks for views on transmission and distribution, electricity supply and the review’s wider economic recommendations.

Evidence must be submitted by 5 January.
