Electric car subscription service, Onto is to offer all its customers free charging across the whole of the InstaVolt public charging network.

The partnership with InstaVolt will give Onto’s more than 2,000 customers access, through an RFID card, to locations around the UK including on-site amenities at McDonald’s, KFC, Costa Coffee and Starbucks.

The InstaVolt network of about 600 chargers nationwide will now be included within Onto customers’ monthly subscription, which starts from £339 for a one-month minimum contract.

As well as the charging costs, the all-inclusive monthly payment covers the car, insurance, 1000 miles, breakdown cover, road tax and all manufacturers recommended servicing and maintenance.

InstaVolt chief executive officer, Adrian Keen, said, “Our partnership will help to provide a reliable rapid charging network to Onto customers around the country.

“Many drivers are concerned about making the switch to electric vehicles because of a perception that there is a lack of public chargers, but this exciting and innovative EV subscription brand will help put future customers’ minds at ease.

“We are proud that drivers have rated us their favourite charging network on multiple occasions, highlighting the ease of use of the chargers and class-leading reliability.

“Our goal is to continually support the drive towards a greener and cleaner future, and so it makes sense that we should partner with Onto to help increase uptake in electric vehicles across the country among leaseholders as well as car owners.”

Ceo and co-founder, Rob Jolly, added, “We’re thrilled to be partnering with InstaVolt to offer our customers even more choice when it comes to charging on the go.

“The additional 600 rapid charging points will be hugely beneficial for our customers who tell us that being able to charge their car for free is a popular component of our all-inclusive subscription.

“Charging anxiety can be a real issue for drivers and so we’re focussed on making electric vehicles as accessible and affordable as possible.”
