Join the Debate: The Energy Crunch and the Business Confidence Crisis

0

Since September 2021, there has been unprecedented volatility in the wholesale energy market, which is having a major impact on businesses – many of whom are already struggling after a pandemic-hit two years.

However, at the same time, we are being warned that the next ten years must be a ‘decade of delivery’ when it comes to climate change and hitting our net zero emissions  target by 2050.

But how is the current energy situation really affecting business confidence to achieve their net zero targets? Are they sprinting ahead with their investment plans or are they stalling in the face of the big energy squeeze?

At 10am on 23 June 2022, npower Business Solutions (nBS) will be hosting a new debate – The Energy Crunch and the Business Confidence Crisis – which will feature a panel of industry experts discussing the key issues impacting business energy users in these uncertain times.

Hosted by sustainable business journalist, James Murray, the expert panel  includes:

  • Amie Jones, Senior Policy Adviser at the Confederation of British Industry (CBI)
  • Arjan Geveke, Director at the Energy Intensive Users Group (EIUG)
  • Anthony Ainsworth, COO at nBS

It will also see the launch of the Business Energy Tracker, a new piece of market insight from nBS, which has gathered the views of 200 businesses across the UK on the current energy climate and the impact on confidence, how they are managing risk and whether they believe the government is doing enough to support them right now.
