Low Costa Mill Holiday Cottages achieves TripAdvisor Gold Eco Leader status with renewable energy

0

Located on the banks of Costa Beck, Low Costa Mill is a collection of seven holiday cottages set in a peaceful haven on the edge of the Yorkshire Moors.

Adapted from former farm and mill buildings, the cottages retain many original features, such as exposed beams and brickwork, and make an ideal base for families, small groups and couples who appreciate the countryside.

Just 1.5 miles from the historic market town of Pickering, the cottages are set in 10 acres of gardens and woodlands. A large lawn includes a climbing frame, swings and garden toys for the children, while everyone can enjoy the heated swimming pool.

Energy savings all round

The fact that the holiday cottages use renewable energy provided by Haven Power forms a key part of Low Costa Mill’s TripAdvisor Gold Eco Leader status. In addition, photovoltaic (PV) panels provide about 14% of the site’s electricity and the buildings have triple-glazed windows, 300mm of loft insulation, timers wherever possible, and LED lighting throughout. Also, the main house and office is run from a Water Source Heat Pump – half the cost of LPG according to owner Dave Goodfellow – and the indoor pool is heated by an Air Source Pump.

Paul Sheffield, Chief Operating Officer of Haven Power, said: “Haven Power has an enviable reputation for excellence in customer service. Everything we do is about making power work for businesses. This customer-centric approach sets Haven Power apart from other retailers.”

Dave Goodfellow, owner of Low Costa Mill, commented “Being supplied by Haven Power for the last three years has been a pleasure. The customer services team are UK based; real people who give direct contact numbers and email addresses so you can talk to the same individuals each time and get issues resolved. Low Costa Mill Holiday Cottages are proud to be supplied with renewable energy from Haven Power.
