National Grid has confirmed this winter’s Triad periods.
The System Operator said the three highest winter peaks, at least ten days apart, upon which it bases transmission system charges for large firms, were on:
- 11 December for the half hour ending 17:30
- 5 Feb, for the half hour ending 18:00
- 26 Feb for the half hour ending 18:30
All three fell on a Monday, and all three were below 50GW. It was also the first time that two Triads have fallen in February.
