One day left to tell MPs which energy policies to scrutinise

London_,_Lambeth_-_River_Thames,_Westminster_Bridge_and_Houses_of_Parliament_-_geograph.org.uk_-_1780221Businesses have a day left to tell MPs which energy policies they should scrutinise over the course of the next parliament.

The Energy & Climate Change Committee last month called for submissions into what its priorities should be over the next five years. Tomorrow (13 August) is the deadline for input. Submissions will help inform the Committee’s work programme over the next five years.

Given that many of the department of energy and climate change’s existing policies will come to an end between now and 2020, the current parliament will be shaping whatever replaces those policies. The outcomes will have implications for businesses in terms of energy security and affordability as well as taxes, compliance and incentives.

Submissions are invited regarding which Decc policies should be scrutinised over the next five years, and what should be the particular focus over the next 12 months. These should be no longer than 300 words and should be submitted here.
