Quorn installs 2MW CHP system as part of energy efficiency drive

Mycoprotein manufacturer Quorn Foods is installing a combined heat and power (CHP) system as part of a £30m energy efficiency and productivity drive.

Veolia will design and install the 2MWe CHP unit and combination boiler to deliver low carbon electricity, hot water and steam to Quorn’s production facility at Stokesley, North Yorkshire.

According to the FM firm, the CHP will deliver around 13GWh of electricity each year, providing stable energy costs that are less susceptible to energy market price volatility.

The contract includes a 10 year operation and maintenance service.
