UPS steps up smart grid approach to e-vans

0

Delivery firm UPS will use Moixa’s smart grid platform to manage charging of 65 electric vans at its Camden depot.

UPS has been working with UK Power Networks Services and Cross River Partnership at the depot for the last three years.

It had originally faced challenges in getting the power required to handle multiple van chargers at the site. To address the issue, the project designed and implemented a smart charging and energy storage system that takes into account variations in daily demand on the network.

From next month it will wrap in Moixa’s AI-enabled management platform to optimise the UPS fleet’s carbon emissions as well as costs.
