Vattenfall EV charging business up and running with South Norfolk Council

Swedish utility Vattenfall has signed a deal to install its first electric car chargers in the UK. It will install and operate 20 chargers to be owned by South Norfolk Council and provide them with 100% renewable power via its British wind farms.

Vattenfall aims to build a UK charging network by working with other councils and private companies. Ultimately, it plans to use its EV network to help provide system benefits via vehicle to grid services.

For now, EV drivers need a Vattenfall Incharge app or charge card to use its charging network. The company said it is working on roaming agreements with other charge point operators.

It will work with BMM on the South Norfolk Council deal, with the installer putting chargers into five council-owned car parks.
