Ventient Energy officially launched today as the UK’s third largest onshore wind generator.
The firm, which combines the portfolio formally owned by Infinis with assets previously owned by Zephyr, owns 34 UK wind farms with a total capacity of 690MW.
The company is headquartered in Scotland and indicated it is looking at further acquisitions.
“The UK onshore wind market is fragmented, and Ventient Energy owns only 6% of market capacity at present, so we see plenty of opportunities to grow our installed capacity through consolidation,” said CEO Scott Mackenzie. “We are ambitious.”
