Western Power Distribution is seeking a further 44.55MW of flex and needs providers in five new locations.

In one location, at Hawton, Nottinghamshire, the DNO needs people that can curtail generation or increase demand due to excess renewable generation on the network.

The round brings WPD’s total flexibility requirement to 385MW across 52 locations in England and Wales.

WPD said all of the zones in this latest procurement round have a need within 2020/21. It has also signposted requirements to 2024/25.

WPD has developed a postcode checker and a value calculator for interested parties.

Register here to receive an invitation to tender (ITT). The deadline is 11 September and results will be published 3 October.
