Global engineering, design and sustainability consultancy Ramboll has today announced the appointment of Ann Gordon as Market Director for Transport in the UK and Ireland. She assumes the role having previously been a Project Director in the Transport Project Management Team and Masterplanning Market Lead.
Ann has been with Ramboll for 20 years, starting with the firm as a graduate, and has worked on projects across the world in Europe, America and the Middle East. She is known for her strong client-centric approach, having been responsible for some of Ramboll’s highest profile projects in the UK and Ireland, including HS2 and Digital Rail.
In her new role, Ann’s key areas of focus will be driving a nature positive approach to sustainable transport and acting as a trusted advisor to Ramboll’s clients in the transport sector as their partner for Sustainable Change. As part of this, Ann’s remit will centre on developing holistic, sustainable and resilient transport, with specific focus on further building on Ramboll’s global rail expertise and delivering on major structures and critical infrastructure to support sustainable development across cities, airports, ports and highways.
The decarbonisation of the transport sector is key to the UK achieving its net zero targets, and with investment into sustainable transport across the world gathering pace to help meet carbon emission targets, Ann will be instrumental in supporting Ramboll’s continued growth in the sector as it looks to support the UK’s decarbonisation objectives.
Commenting on her appointment, Ann Gordon, Transport Market Director, UK & Ireland, Ramboll, said, “I’m very excited to be joining Ramboll’s leadership team for transport at such a crucial time and to be supporting the UK and Ireland’s sustainable infrastructure ambitions. I’m also looking forward to driving collaboration across Ramboll to bring holistic, sustainable, and innovative solutions to our clients. Empowering others has been one of the most rewarding parts of my career so far and I’m very pleased to have the opportunity to build on that even further in this new role.”
