Osprey Charging has opened its new super-fast EV charging hub located near Glasgow Airport in the busy Phoenix retail area of Paisley.

The site in Saturn Avenue includes 16 new 300kW charge points with 24/7 public access, and drivers can typically add 100 miles of range in 10 minutes, depending on the model of the vehicle and its battery level.

It is easily accessible from both the East- and West-bound carriageways of the A737, less than five minutes from the M8 and about 10 minutes’ drive from Glasgow Airport’s terminal.

Osprey has fully re-designed the space specifically for EV charging, with pedestrian walkways, space-saving charge points and a layout that maximises accessibility for larger vehicles, including two bays that meet PAS1899 standards.

Ian Johnston, CEO of Osprey Charging, said, “We’re proud of this carefully designed site located in Paisley at the heart of a busy retail area.

“By purchasing the land we were able to create a bespoke layout specifically for EV charging that maximises space and accessibility, learning from the success of our Award-winning Salmon’s Leap super-hub in Devon.

“The hub’s 16 super-fast, super-reliable charge points are the new normal for Osprey – and we’re building these large convenient hubs all over Great Britain.”

Transport Secretary Fiona Hyslop, who officially opened the new site said, “Not only is this sort of private sector investment exactly what we need to see to support our vision for public EV charging, it’s in a prime location offering high-powered EV charging to fleets, taxis and everyday drivers travelling around Glasgow and to and from the airport.”
