British Solar Renewables (BSR) announces the acquisition of Berden Solar Farm, a consented, ready-to-build solar project located near Bishop’s Stortford in Essex.
Berden Solar Farm is a 56MWp ground-mounted solar project, situated on approximately 177 acres of land. Once operational, the site is expected to generate around 60GWh of clean electricity each year, contributing to the UK’s renewable energy supply while continuing to support agricultural use of the land.
The project has been awarded a 20-year Contract for Difference (CfD) in Allocation Round 7, providing long-term revenue certainty. A 2027 grid connection positions Berden Solar Farm as a construction-ready addition to the UK’s clean energy infrastructure.
Tim Humpage, Chief Executive Officer of British Solar Renewables, said, “We’re delighted to welcome Berden Solar Farm into the BSR portfolio. It’s a high-quality, consented project that aligns strongly with our focus on delivering renewable energy infrastructure capable of making a meaningful contribution to the UK’s clean energy goals.”
