Saint-Gobain has signed a renewable electricity purchase agreement with TotalEnergies for 60GWh per year to supply the Group’s industrial sites in the United Kingdom. The agreement will take effect in April 2027 for a period of five years.
This contract, the first of its kind in the country, marks an important milestone in Saint-Gobain’s decarbonisation strategy, covering more than 20% of its annual electricity consumption in the UK under a long-term commitment directly backed by guarantees of origin from local renewable assets while contributing to its operational performance. Saint-Gobain has already been purchasing certified renewable electricity since 2016 in the UK, covering 100% of its operational usage in the country.

Thanks to this agreement, Saint-Gobain in the UK is taking a major step forward towards this objective with a reliable and continuous supply of renewable electricity,” said David Molho, Senior Vice-President, CEO Northern Europe Region.
In 2025, decarbonised electricity represented 70% of Saint-Gobain Group’s global electricity consumption, compared with 39% in 2021. The Group has signed 25 major decarbonised electricity supply agreements across 15 countries. Saint-Gobain is also the only plasterboard manufacturer with plants operating entirely on renewable electricity in Norway and Canada.
