Smartest Energy will use Origami Energy’s technology platform to manage its customers’ distributed energy assets and consumption and boost demand-side response revenues.
The deal enables SmartestEnergy to offer real-time, flexible energy management services to help its customers unlock the value of the flexibility in their consumption and generation of electricity.
Smartest Energy said this value is “rapidly increasing”.
Origami says its platform is capable of accurately monitoring and automatically dispatching large numbers and types of assets in real-time and capturing and analysing the associated data. That means it can place flexibility from generation and consumption into the highest value areas at any given time.
Owned by Japan’s Marubeni Corporation, Smartest Energy buys power directly from around 500 renewable generators. It also supplies power to some 2,000 UK businesses.
