Mark Jones is the new chief exec at Ventient Energy. The firm was formed in 2017 by the merger of the Zephyr and Infinis Wind portfolios. It operates some 34 onshore wind farms in the UK, totalling almost 690MW.
Jones, former boss of wind turbine manufacturer EWT, is tasked with growing Ventient’s portfolio of assets domestically and internationally. He also experienced in growing solar PV businesses. Ventient said his appointment marks the start of a “major new growth phase”.
Ventient chairman Andrew Lee said Jones was an “ideal” appointment to lead the business and thanked outgoing CEO, Scott Mackenzie.
“Scott successfully led the company through the integration of the Zephyr and Infinis Wind portfolios and helped establish an excellent platform which this major new phase can build upon,” said Lee. “We wish him every success for the future.”
