National EV charge point operator Be.EV is the latest firm to go live on Zap-Pay, the way to pay for charging across networks from Zapmap.

The company joins live payment partners Osprey, ESB Energy, char.gy, GeniePoint, Mer, MFG EV Power, Fastned, Alfa Power, Connected Kerb, evyve, Charge My Street, Applegreen Electric and FOR EV on Zap-Pay.

Be.EV currently operates more than 700 rapid and ultra-rapid charge points at 180 locations across England and Wales, with the majority concentrated in and around Greater Manchester.

Zap-Pay uses a credit or debit card to pay for charging, as well as Apple Pay and Google Pay.

Drivers using Zap-Pay are also able to view their charging history, receive live status updates while away from their vehicle, and download receipts to help keep track of their spending.

Matt Lloyd, Head of CPO Networks at Zapmap, said, “With Be.EV’s community-first charging network now live on Zap-Pay, this announcement represents a significant step forward for convenient and reliable charging for electric car drivers in Greater Manchester, as well as further afield in England and Wales.

“I’m thrilled that Be.EV is now live on our cross-network payment solution, and I’m sure many Zapmap users up and down the country will be too.”

Asif Ghafoor, CEO and Co-founder of Be.EV, said, “This integration makes the Be.EV charging experience even more seamless, as EV drivers can now locate and pay for a Be.EV charger without leaving the Zapmap app.

“Zap-Pay is trusted by EV drivers across the UK, and we’re pleased it’s committed to expanding its customers’ access to rapid and ultra-rapid charging across the North West and beyond.”
