Be.EV has invested £1m to build an EV charging hub at the Telford Centre in Shropshire, equipped with 18 ultra-fast 300kW chargers.
It is the latest addition to the million square foot shopping centre, which is close to Junction 5 of the M54, has an average of 54,000 vehicles passing through it every day, and which features more than 160 stores, cafés and restaurants.
The chargers, which are located in the restaurant and cinema car park, can deliver up to 325 miles of range in 20 minutes and are located near retailers such as Next, Primark, M&S and H&M.
Be.EV is also offering a promotion until 16th July, meaning customers get 50% off charging fees when they pay via the Be.EV app, with no limits on usage and no minimum spend.
It is the biggest EV charging hub Be.EV has built and follows the company’s £20m investment in sites at five Schroders Capital real estate funds, which will see it install more than 200 ultra-rapid Kempower EV charging bays across 22 major UK retail and leisure sites.
Asif Ghafoor, CEO of Be.EV, said the new site enables drivers to shop, dine and power up at the same time.
He added, “It’s not just about building charging points – it’s about delivering reliable, future-proof infrastructure that keeps pace with the rapidly growing EV market.
“This £1m investment is a bold statement of our ambition to make ultra-fast, convenient charging accessible to everyone, right where they live, work and shop. We’re proud to be leading the charge towards a cleaner, greener future.”
