Miami-based Blink Charging Co, which provides EV charging equipment and services, has acquired St Albans-based EB Charging.
The deal adds to Blink’s existing international operations in more than 18 countries and will see EB Charging continuing under its current brand.
EB operates about 1,100 charge points across the UK, mainly for local authorities, NHS healthcare trusts, further education colleges, and for fleets, and is represented on many procurement frameworks.
The companies expect significant synergies to result from the acquisition, in particular from Blink’s experience, systems, supply chain and client base.
Michael Farkas, co-founder and CEO of Blink Charging said, “EB Charging is an established and well-known EV charging company with a proven track record of success, solidifying itself as an integral player supporting the transition to EVs across the UK.
“With a shared mission to advance EV charging through strategic owner-operator models that provide for greater flexibility and better outcomes, EB Charging was an ideal business to integrate under the Blink umbrella.
“We’re excited to have a significant presence in an important market through this acquisition and play an integral role in helping the UK to achieve its electrification goals.”
Alex Calnan, EB Charging MD said, “Blink’s experience, supply chain and investment will enable us to install more charge points, more quickly, serve more EV driving customers and deliver on our commitment to customer excellence and innovation.
“Blink is a substantial business in the USA and has added tremendous value to its international acquisitions and partners. We are delighted to become part of the Blink family.”
