Citroën has unveiled the electric version of its Berlingo van, with a claimed range of 171 miles and top speed of 84mph.
The e-Berlingo includes a 136bhp electric motor and 50kWh battery pack, which enables 100kW rapid charging, meaning an 80% charge in 30 moinutes.
There are three driving modes including power mode which allows drivers to use the vehicle’s full 136bhp.
Normal mode restricts power to 109bhp for everyday driving conditions while Eco mode limits power to 82bhp by reducing heating and air conditioning to save energy.
The van has a maximum capacity of 4400 litres with an 800kg payload and because the battery is located under the seats of the vehicle there is no impact on load volume.
Citroën is including an eight-year or 100,000 mile battery warranty for buyers, as well as a six-month free membership to charging network BP Pulse.
The e-Berlingo, which will be available from UK dealerships in the final quarter of 2021, will be built on the same platform as other electric vans from PSA Group, the Peugeot e-Partner and Vauxhall Combo-e.
Citroën Global CEO Vincent Cobée said: “The Citroën Berlingo van is renowned for its practicality and usability. By adopting the best electric vehicle technology, it now offers professional users a zero emissions solution.
“With ë-Berlingo van, many business customers will find the ideal partner to accomplish their daily tasks in unrivalled comfort, and with lower running costs, without any compromise in terms of loads and volumes.
“After ë-Dispatch, which was recently voted International Van of the Year, and the forthcoming ë-Relay, ë-Berlingo van is an important link in our electric vehicle offensive and a tangible response to the new mobility challenges for all vehicle users.”
