Connected Kerb has installed 12 EV charging bays at the Woolgate Car Park in Witney, Oxfordshire, as part of the continued rollout of chargers across the district.

The charge points are located at the north end of the site – owned by West Oxfordshire District Council – and are a mix of 7.4kW Type 2 chargers and 75.0kW rapid chargers.

They will provide more places to charge and give residents with no off-street parking the ability to park for free overnight and charge their EVs at a competitive price.

West Oxfordshire District Council’s car parks now include a total of 42 charging units, covering 74 parking bays.

The five existing Council owned car parks with EV charging are: Back Lane, (Eynsham), New Street (Chipping Norton), Black Bourton Road (Carterton), Hensington Road (Woodstock) and Woodford Way (Witney).

Developing the infrastructure to support EV is one objective outlined in the Council’s Climate Change Strategy, which includes decarbonising transport in the district.

Councillor Andrew Prosser, Executive Member for Climate Action and Nature Recovery at West Oxfordshire District Council, said, “Our existing charging points are being well-used.

“The council is exploring widening the infrastructure available and the new installation of charging points in Woolgate Car Park shows that we are supporting more motorists using cleaner, greener vehicles.”

James Douglas from Connected Kerb, said, “We’re excited to unveil our latest EV charging installation at The Woolgate Centre Park in West Oxfordshire.

“This charger combination ensures a diverse range of charging options to meet the needs of EV drivers and marks a significant step forward in providing accessible and convenient charging infrastructure for residents and visitors.”
