Europcar has boosted its UK EV fleet with the addition of a range of premium Mercedes-Benz models offered on both short-term hire and longer-term rental.

The EQA SUV, EQC 4×4 and EQE saloon are now available from Europcar locations across the UK, as well as the EQA 250 AMG Line Premium, EQC 400 4Matic AMG Line and EQE 300 AMG Line.

EQA 250 SUV has a 70.5kWh battery, delivering a driving range up to 324 miles. The larger EQC 4×4 comes with an 80kWh battery and a range of up to 254 miles. The EQE saloon has the largest battery (98kWh capacity) and delivers a range of up to 388 miles.

These new arrivals support Europcar’s ‘One Sustainable Fleet’ programme, which aims to have at least 20% of its vehicles emitting less than 50g/km by the end of 2024.

Drivers also get a digital EV guide to help them understand the best vehicle for their journey, charging cables and the Shell Recharge card and app, providing access to more than 10,000 publicly accessible charge points across the UK.

Mark Newberry, UK commercial director and sustainability spokesperson, said “We now have EVs of almost every size, shape and spec on our fleet. And the addition of these three new models ensures we can help the widest range of drivers to choose an electric vehicle for their next rental, removing another barrier to those considering making the switch from petrol or diesel.

“At Europcar we are committed to helping drivers adapt to the future of electric driving as soon as possible. And try-before-you-buy EV rental demonstrates that many of the perceived challenges with electric cars are far less significant than expected.”
