Extra MSA and Gridserve have worked together in partnership to develop two new EV charging hubs at Cobham and Peterborough services.

A total of 24 additional charging bays have been installed at Cobham Services – M25 J9/10 – and 18 extra bays at Peterborough Services (A1(M) J17), bringing the total number of high-power chargers through Extra’s ongoing partnerships with both Ionity and Gridserve to 48.

The chargers will be able to supply 400kW, enabling drivers with the latest car models to add more than 100 miles of range in less than 10 minutes.

Each installation gives Extra MSA’s customers nationwide to access a minimum of 12 high-power Gridserve chargers per location.

Rebecca Trebble, Chief Customer Officer for Gridserve, said, “We’re proud of our ongoing partnership with Extra MSA and of the innovative steps we’ve taken to help make this 24-bay Super Hub at Cobham a reality.

“Our technical expertise in delivering ultra-rapid EV charging infrastructure continues to make us a partner of choice, and together with Extra MSA, we’re building a network that gives drivers the confidence to charge quickly, easily and reliably wherever they travel.”

Tom Dobson, CEO at Extra MSA Group, said, “Our ambition has always been to go the ‘Extra mile’ for our customers, whether that’s through great food, drink and retail, high-quality design and amenity, or world-class EV charging.

“We’re proud to continue our partnership with Gridserve in future-proofing our services nationwide.

“As one of the most trusted names in the EV charging industry, partnering with Gridserve has provided us with the infrastructure to meet high-speed charging customer demand and contribute to wider efforts of decarbonising the motorway network.”
