Fastned has officially launched its latest ultra-rapid hub at Jarman Way in Hemel Hempstead.

The site includes eight ultra-rapid charging bays sheltered by Fastned’s signature yellow canopy.

These high-power chargers are capable of delivering up to 400kW, which can add more than 200 miles of range in about 10 minutes.

The facility is also next to a new Burger King, with Tesco, Nando’s, McDonald’s and Lidl all within a short walk.

To mark the opening, Fastned Hemel Hempstead will offer a week of free charging at the site, from Friday 15 to Sunday 22 May 2026.

Drivers can turn up, authorise their charge with their normal payment method and then access the free charging.

This latest launch builds on Fastned’s recent UK expansion in the North East, with the company recently opening two new stations at Newcastle Airport and in Sunderland.

Tom Hurst, UK country director at Fastned, said, “Opening our new ultra-rapid charging hub in Hemel Hempstead is another important step in building a future-ready UK charging network.

“This busy, highly visible location is exactly the kind of place where reliable, high-quality charging can make a real difference to drivers’ everyday journeys.

“Conveniently located amongst quality amenities, drivers have the opportunity to recharge both their cars and themselves by grabbing a bite to eat and some refreshments in one convenient stop.

“As more people make the switch to electric vehicles, it’s vital that charging infrastructure is convenient, accessible and easy to use.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming EV drivers to this site and continuing to expand access to ultra-rapid charging across the UK.”
