KGM Motors UK, the brand formerly known as SsangYong, is set to reveal its Musso EV pick-up truck at an event in the Lake District this month.

Set against the backdrop of Ullswater Lake, the SUPBIKERUN event will give attendees an opportunity to take part in early test drives of the vehicle.

While specifications are still subject to change, the Musso EV currently features all-wheel-drive capability, an estimated range of up to 290 miles, and technology such as vehicle-to-load functionality, allowing equipment to be powered directly from the truck.

Insights gathered from early trial drives will help inform the vehicle’s potential development journey and offer a glimpse into how the electric pick-up could be utilised in the UK.

SUPBIKERUN is an adventure triathlon series which combines stand-up paddleboarding, cycling, and trail running and KGM’s Musso Saracen provides logistics support across all four of its UK venues – South Wales, Dorset, Devon, and the Lake District.

KGM initially unveiled its Musso pickup in April at a global test drive event in Seoul, South Korea.

This model included an 80.6kWh Blade battery sourced from BYD under the companies’ technology partnership, with a driving range of about 249 miles.

Kevin Griffin, Managing Director at KGM Motors UK, said, “SUPBIKERUN is all about adventure and new experiences, which makes it a fitting environment for participants to test drive the Musso EV for the very first time.

“At this stage, it is about seeing what’s possible for an electric pick-up and engaging with people who will ultimately shape its future.”
