EV manufacturer Polestar has appointed smart charging company Ohme as its new official charging partner in Ireland.

The agreement will see Polestar recommend Ohme chargers for all its sales supporting drivers who need an EV charging solution.

Ohme is based in Cork and London and its dynamic smart chargers with their unique software are able to automatically adjust their charging for drivers to take advantage of all the times of low price charging with off-peak tariffs.

The firm has just been named as Fast Track Company of the Year in the 2023 Green Business Awards as well as Best Electric Charging Point Provider by Business Motoring.

Charging a Polestar 2 Long range Single motor with a 78kWh battery and an Ohme smart charger on an off-peak electricity tariff could cost €216.60 for driving 10,000kms over a year.

By comparison, charging on the Standard Tariff would cost €700.15.

“Ohme’s award-winning smart chargers and excellent approach towards customer service and professionalism align with Polestar’s core values and culture. “Polestar has revolutionised the introduction of EVs in terms of launching an entirely new luxury brand. With Ohme’s technology giving drivers the control to get more from their EVs, Ohme and Polestar are a natural partnership.”
