Richmond Motor Group has appointed smart-charging company Ohme as its new official home EV charge partner.

The agreement will see the dealer group recommend Ohme chargers for its new and used EV sales and display its chargers in showrooms for customers to view.

Family-owned Richmond Motor Group, which was established in 1995, is made up of seven retailers in the South East covering the Hyundai, MG, Suzuki, Skoda and Genesis brands.

The company was also one of the UK’s earliest dealer groups to feature solar panels across the roofs of its larger sites.

Ohme’s dynamic EV chargers use live data from the grid and are compatible with affordable energy tariffs.

Its chargers automatically adjust to optimise the cost of charging and feature a solar boost function to reduce reliance on the grid.

Michael Nobes, managing director of Richmond Motor Group said, “We are delighted to be partnering with Ohme as our preferred home EV charging supplier.

“It was clear to us that Ohme’s smart charging capability, award-winning products and excellent customer service made it the obvious choice for Richmond Motor Group.

“With increasing numbers of customers considering electric vehicles, we’re looking forward to recommending Ohme for our electric vehicle sales.”

Peter McDonald, Ohme mobility director said, “Ohme is the largest and fastest-growing home EV charging company in the UK, so this is a natural partnership with the Richmond Motor Group.

“With Richmond’s brands boasting strong EV line ups and with its obvious commitment to sustainability, we’re looking forward to introducing their customers to the benefits of dynamic charging.”
