WSP and KPMG have been appointed to provide technical and advisory support to National Highways as it supports the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles’ strategic charging infrastructure activity across England’s Strategic Road Network.
The work will support activity linked to improving access to reliable ultra-rapid electric vehicle (EV) charging at key locations on the Strategic Road Network, including motorway service areas. It forms part of wider efforts to support industry with the transition to zero-emission transport by helping address practical challenges around EV charging provision, electricity network connections, delivery readiness and customer experience.
Working alongside National Highways, WSP and KPMG will provide expertise, such as technical assurance, programme support and strategic advisory services to inform decisions around EV charging infrastructure, electricity network connections, delivery risks, costs, and portfolio planning. The appointment draws on expertise in energy, transport, digital advisory, data analytics, intelligent mobility and programme delivery.
