CRM Students, a leading UK student accommodation management business, focusses on managing the assets of corporate, university and institutional investors. CRM Students operates over 50 student accommodation assets, totaling over 23,000 bed spaces, across the UK.
The Green Energy Basket will allow ZTP to trade electricity and gas into the future opening up opportunities for cost reduction whilst also ensuring risk is mitigated in high markets. This element will be managed by ZTP’s experienced consultancy staff and the award-winning software Kiveev, using AI-led risk modelling to help navigate the markets and provide best value.
CRM Students will also be able to manage all utilities via ZTP’s TRACE portal. Green energy will be key to ZTP’s solution – TRACE will allow CRM Students to identify trends in its energy consumption, measuring and tracking its carbon footprint, enabling the business to take the necessary steps to reduce consumption and carbon emissions.
Commenting on the appointment Joe Warren, director of ZTP, said, “We are delighted to announce this significant new partnership and contract win. ZTP will work with CRM Students to procure and trade green energy, reduce cost, and improve energy efficiency. The TRACE platform will centralise the consumption data and automate energy reporting which will enable CRM Students to achieve greater energy efficiency and benchmark asset performance. The group Green Energy Basket is a simple way for this multi-asset business to attain greater buying power and achieve a level of savings that is not available when conducted on an individual basis. Furthermore, there will be a reduction in risk premium and the basket offers increased protection against market volatility as well as the opportunity to take advantage of market dips.”
Christopher Hodgson, head of mobilisation UK and Europe, CRM Students, added, “We are delighted to be entering into this contract with ZTP. CRM Students place a great deal of attention on how we can continue to deliver a strong environmental, social and corporate governance approach to our business and this partnership with ZTP is one of many ways we are currently doing this. To be able to reduce our energy requirements and our carbon emissions is an important part of our future strategy and we are delighted to be working with ZTP moving forward.”
