The first GMC Hummer fully electric pickup truck has arrived in the UK, priced at £320,000 and with 350 miles of zero-emission range.
Imported by luxury car dealer Clive Sutton, the vehicle has 1,000hp and 1,627Nm of torque, meaning it can reach 60mph in 3.3 seconds.
It is designed for offroad applications, featuring independent front and rear suspension, full underbody armour, rock sliders and optional ‘ultravision’ system -18 cameras to enable accurate navigation in tight spaces or around obstacles.
The vehicle, which has dimensions of 2.0m high, 2.34m wide, and 5.5m long, also has seating for five, plus a pickup load bed cargo area.
In addition, its optional ‘crabwalk’ capability utilises rear-wheel steering to enable the truck to traverse diagonally at low speeds.
Other features include four-wheel steering and an optional ‘extract’ mode that allows the entire truck to rise about 15cm if required.
Air suspension works to optimise aerodynamics by lowering the car at motorway speeds.
Due to international shipping, VAT duty, local registration fees, and vehicle conformity testing, the Edition 1 being imported here costs about £320,000.
The dealer will also provide a two-year/50,000-mile warranty with each one.
Clive Sutton, founder and CEO, of the dealer, based in St John’s Wood, London said: “As soon as the GMC Hummer EV was announced our customers have been desperate to see the model in the UK.
“Now that we have imported the first one, we anticipate orders outstripping supply as buyers clamour to be among the first in Europe to own this electric supertruck.”
