Be.EV has opened its first ultra-rapid charging hub in London – the first part of a £2.5m investment in four sites across the capital by the end of the year

The charging business, established in Greater Manchester in 2019 and now operating across the UK, has gone live with the site at the Crown Hotel London in Cricklewood, delivered in partnership with AG Hotels.

The other new hubs will be installed near Croydon, Dartford and Watford.

Be.EV will install a total of thirty 150kW charging bays across all sites, delivering 80% of charge in 20 minutes.

The Crown Hotel London site also marks a major milestone for Be.EV as its 300th ultra-rapid charge point.

Be.EV’s charging network currently includes more than 750 live charging bays, a number which is planned to reach 1,600 by the end of 2025.

Asif Ghafoor, CEO of Be.EV, said, “London is crying out for reliable, accessible EV charging – and this expansion is about meeting that demand head-on.

“We’re helping to future-proof the city by putting chargers where people need them most: close to homes, shops and leisure destinations.”

Girish Grover, CEO and managing director at AG Hotels Group, said, “Onsite EV charging is becoming a clear differentiator in the hospitality sector, shifting from a nice-to-have to an essential service.

“Partnering with Be.EV will allow us to meet the expectations of a growing number of travellers with EVs while also attracting new customers from the local community.

“It’s a strategic step that strengthens our sustainability agenda and ensures our hotels remain competitive as travel behaviours evolve.”
