Cyxtera collaborates with Fujitsu

Cyxtera Technologies, the secure infrastructure company, has announced that it has collaborated with Fujitsu to offer PRIMERGY servers with Nutanix Enterprise Cloud on its CXD on-demand data centre platform. The new offering aids enterprise IT customers by lowering the total cost of ownership (TCO) for hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) by an estimated 25-50% while enabling capacity to be added on a pay-as-you-grow consumption model. Channel partners will also be able to offer customers this solution and further tap into the growing demand for HCI services.

Initially launching in the UK and expected to expand to Cyxtera’s Amsterdam and Frankfurt data centres in 2020, the availability of PRIMERGY and Nutanix on Cyxtera’s CXD platform connects to the wider industry trend and growth of the HCI market.

Currently valued at over $1.8 billion and growing at a rate of 46% a year according to IDC, the advantages of HCI such as improved performance and flexibility are now being seen by more businesses and industries.

“By providing PRIMERGY on our CXD platform, we are offering enterprise customers an alternative that addresses their cloud-first initiatives,” said Mitch Fonseca, VP, Product and Data Center Strategy for Cyxtera. “They can launch new apps and increase capacity with Nutanix node deployments in minutes, not months.  At the same time, they can reduce network complexity and TCO while automating application management and preventing the build-up of infrastructure silos.”
