Daf has begun series production of its XG Electric and XG+ Electric long-haul trucks.

These Eindhoven-built vehicles feature spacious cabs with volumes up to 12.5 m3, while their aerodynamic cab designs contribute to optimal vehicle efficiency.

They are available in multiple chassis configurations and feature the Paccar EX-D2 electric powertrain, delivering outputs from 270 to 350kW (370 to 480hp) and a maximum torque of 2,400Nm.

The driveline is powered by up to five lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery packs, mounted modularly on the chassis.

Depending on the application, zero-emission ranges of more than 500 kilometres are possible.

The first vehicle, an XG+ tractor with 350kW/480hp, will be delivered to the German haulier Hellmold & Plank, based in Giessen.

Hellmold & Plank already deploys various zero-emission Daf vehicle models across a wide range of applications, such as shuttle transport and pharmaceutical logistics.

The family-owned company, which has been in business for 122 years, also uses Paccar charging equipment.

Daf offers a complete series of EV trucks, from a 12 tonne XB Electric for city distribution up to the XG and XG+ Electric.

The XG Electric and XG+ Electric share their DNA with the XD and XF Electric trucks, jointly voted International Truck of the Year 2026.

Harald Seidel, President of Daf Trucks said, “The start of production of the XG Electric and XG+ Electric underlines our commitment to offering zero-emission solutions across a broad range of applications.

“Customers such as Hellmold & Plank demonstrate that our electric trucks are delivering strong efficiency and sustainable performances in everyday logistics operations.”
