Andy Skelton has been appointed as chief financial officer at Drax. His role will commence 2 January.
Drax, which owns the UK’s largest coal and biomass power station, had sought a new CFO since Dorothy Thompson retired as chief executive and former CFO Will Gardiner stepped into her role.
Skelton joins from software and services firm Fidessa Group. He has also held senior finance roles at semiconductor and telecoms companies including CSR, Ericsson and Marconi.
Drax said interim CFO Den Jones will remain with the company until June to help with the acquisition of Scottish Power’s gas, pumped storage and hydro assets, a £700m deal announced earlier this month.
