Free event: How to cut carbon without financial risk

On-site utility solution provider, EuroSite Power is calling on the hospitality and leisure sectors to consider new approaches to long-term energy strategies at an exclusive seminar being held at the world-famous Celtic Manor Resort Hotel on 25th October.

According to The Carbon Trust, the hospitality sector spends in excess of £1.3bn a year on energy. Such figures are hard to ignore. Therefore future-proofing against unpredictable energy price rises must be seen as a critical component of business strategy, advises EuroSite Power.

Hosted by EuroSite Power, the event provides an exclusive opportunity to see and hear a live case study from the estates team at the Celtic Manor Resort.  Here, a number of On-Site Utility initiatives have been implemented in partnership with EuroSite Power, including the installation of two fully-funded CHP systems. This long-term project uses a ‘shared savings model’ and has already exceeded the projected savings of £60k and 750 tonnes of CO2 in the first year.

The seminar sessions will also offer expert insight from both Celtic Manor’s estates team and other energy solution providers into the technologies available to hotels – including building controls, lighting and power management. The focus of advice is on how to mitigate the impact of rising energy costs and how to build brand value by embracing sustainability.

Paul Hamblyn, Managing Director at Eurosite Power comments:

“We understand better than anyone the energy challenges faced by the hotel and leisure sectors. Organisations are faced with a dual need to keep a building running 24/7, whilst keeping energy costs down. Conscious commitments to minimise environmental impact without compromise to guest and customer comfort present real challenges.

“However, there is a solution. This event is a great opportunity for anyone in the sector from energy professionals to sustainability, finance and facilities managers, to see how these challenges have been addressed and brought under control by a large and complex resort such as Celtic Manor.

“For many, the financial cost of implementing carbon reduction strategies is a barrier; however, this event is designed to demonstrate how this can be simplified without financial risk.”
