Ultra-rapid charging network Fastned has opened three new hubs located in Birmingham, Bradford and Dover, featuring a total of 26 400kW charging bays, of which 18 are already live.

The sites include Bordesley hub in Birmingham city centre, off the A45 at Bordesley Circus roundabout, which has 12 400kW charging bays.

Its Bradford hub is located at Cutler Heights in the south-east of the city, off the A6177 Bradford ring road and includes eight 400kW charging bays.

The site in Dover site is close to the port, on the A20 across from the Dover Marina, and featuring six 400kW charging bays.

All Fastned’s charging bays are powered by 100% renewable energy – potentially offering drivers up to 300 miles of range in 20 minutes.

In addition, the new charging hubs feature Fastned’s yellow ‘wings’, which help EV drivers locate the site easily.

Tom Hurst, UK Country Manager, Fastned, said the site in Dover will make summer road trips to Europe much easier with the new charging hub near the Port.

“Drivers will no longer have to worry about getting on the ferry with low battery, they can now easily top up just before they start their holiday”, he said.

“We’re delighted to be opening our first charging hub in Birmingham and the West Midlands.

“This will be an important piece of the charging puzzle in the area, bringing more charging options to EV drivers which will inevitably support the EV transition in the area and across the UK.

“By bringing more charging options to Bradford, we’re helping to support the EV transition in the area and across the UK.”
