FOR EV has opened a new electric vehicle charging hub in Edinburgh at Seafield Retail and Trade Park.

Located a five-minute drive from the Leith neighbourhood, the new site provides a prime charging destination for EV drivers and shoppers travelling to and from the north of the city.

The hub features rapid chargers that can deliver up to 200kW, providing a typical EV with 150 miles of range in 20 to 30 minutes.

With space to charge eight vehicles simultaneously, it is equipped with optimised load-balancing capabilities, ensuring minimal waiting times and maximising charging speed for all users.

Accessible via Seafield Road, the hub is positioned among shops and eateries such as Halfords, Greggs, and McDonald’s.

This project was delivered in collaboration with the site’s landowners and Scottish real estate asset managers, Rankeilour Properties.

As the largest site FOR EV has installed in Edinburgh, this hub adds to the company’s growing portfolio of locations, with six other sites already in operation across the city.

The hub’s ‘tap and go’ contactless payment system allows for quick and hassle-free transactions, eliminating the need for users to sign up to an app.

Calum Wallace, Senior Business Development Manager at FOR EV, said, “This is our 30th site in Scotland, adding to our growing portfolio of locations across the country.

“With the local LEZ having launched just last month, we expect to see a growth in EV use around the city, and accessible, safe and reliable charging sites such as these are essential to support the transition.”
