Major Indian IT corporation Wipro has commissioned Piller Power to supply MV IP-BUS (isolated parallel system) employing Piller’s UNIBLOCK UBT+ UPS for a data centre at its all-new 50-acre campus at Kodathi in Bengaluru.

The new system, entirely bespoke and a first for India, will power the entire Kodathi campus via 4 x 1800KW Piller UBT+ Rotary UPS units with flywheel and external diesel gensets, expandable to 6 units in a subsequent stage of development.

Concurrently maintainable, this is a sustainable green solution which combines high availability with high efficiency to deliver many advantages over conventional battery solutions.

Wipro, among the top three IT companies in India and one of only five Indian companies to feature in the Thompson Reuters ‘World’s top 100 technology companies’, is publicly listed and has approximately 162,553 employees worldwide, with 2018 global revenues of around 8.4 billion USD.

At 2 million square feet and a capacity for over 30,000 workers, the new campus, Wipro’s biggest to date, is being described as “an agile workspace aimed at the digital worker.”

Piller’s isolated parallel (IP) system configuration enables unique advantages by combining isolated-redundant and parallel-redundant UPS configurations to offer outstanding maintainability and unique fault tolerant characteristics in data centre applications where high operational efficiencies are absolutely critical.
