Gridserve has acquired Anesco’s co-located solar and storage farm at Clayhill.
The deal comes as Gridserve gears up to open its first electric forecourt at Braintree later this year. The company intends to build a network of high powered charging stations and recently struck a deal with Hitachi Capital to help finance them – with Hitachi also helping to finance the Clayhill buy.
Acquiring Clayhill, a 10MW solar and 6MW battery site, means Gridserve can sleeve some of its output to the forecourt, enabling it to verify that it drivers are charging up with clean power.
Anesco will continue to provide O&M services under a 20 year agreement.
