Private members’ club in south-west London, The Hurlingham Club, has praised the efficiency and operational savings provided by its new Club Car Urban electric utility vehicle fleet.

The club operates three zero-emission road-legal Club Car Urban vehicles to assist in the maintenance of the grounds covering 42 acres on the banks of the river Thames, which offer many different sports, activities and hospitality to its 15,000 members.

Club Car’s Urban model has been designed to deliver an efficient, safe and green transport solution with a compact and ergonomic design and agile handling to navigate tight spaces.

It can be customised with many different configurations, carries a payload of up to 1,000kg and can reach 31mph.

Nathan Totton, the Club’s Deputy Head of Buildings, said, “The Club Car Urban has already made a big difference to our operations.

“The ability to drive off-site is a very important benefit for the team. It makes it very easy to collect materials from local suppliers when required.

“And onsite, they are very easy to navigate around the narrow pathways we have here, and they are much quieter than traditional utility vehicles, which ensures a peaceful environment for our members.”

“We’ve used Club Car utility vehicles for a number of years, so when they introduced a new road-legal model it was a no-brainer.

“Overall we’re delighted with the Urban. Crucially, they offer long-term savings because of the reduced operational and maintenance costs.”

Andy Bourke, Club Car regional manager, said, “The Club Car Urban is one of the most powerful, versatile electric mobility solutions on the market.

“It’s fantastic to hear the cars are already making a big difference at the Hurlingham Club, and it speaks volumes that such a prestigious organisation would choose Club Car.”
