MG has confirmed that its all-new S5 compact electric SUV is to go on sale in the UK next month, replacing the ZS EV.
The S5 is based on MG’s bespoke EV architecture and is offered with two battery options: a 49kWh unit for the SE Standard Range and a 64kWh unit for SE Long Range and the Trophy Long Range.
Its 64kWh battery provides a combined driving range of 298 miles on the SE Long Range and 288 miles for the Trophy Long Range.
Rapid Charging – 10% to 80% – of the 49kWh battery takes 24 minutes while the larger 64kWh battery can be charged in 28 minutes.
Maximum DC charging is 120kW for the 49kWh battery and 139kW for the 64kWh battery.
Meanwhile, the rear-wheel-drive S5 is powered by a 231PS electric motor, which enables 0 to 62mpg acceleration in 6.3 seconds.
