National Grid: Tell us your demand-side response success stories

National Grid: Tell us how you are helping to balance the system.

National Grid seeks case studies of successful demand-side response or flexibility projects.

The System Operator is asking end users, consultants and aggregators to submit their stories, outlining the benefits and outcomes so that it can showcase them at the summer Power Responsive forum.

Power Responsive is National Grid’s engagement programme for demand-side flexibility. It aims to bring more businesses, and ultimately households, into balancing services so that it can better manage the power system as large thermal plant declines and more decentralised and renewable generation comes on stream.

If more businesses help to keep the system stable, the theory is that costs to consumers will be minimised through increased liquidity and competition.

Meanwhile, businesses that can be flexible with their consumption and generation assets can mitigate rising non-commodity costs and volatility within energy markets, while optimising their operations and costs.

National Grid seeks case studies by 22 May. Submit your story via this link.
