Iceotope Technologies has appointed Neil Yule as Non-Exec Director. In his new role at Iceotope, Neil has been tasked with supporting the Board and Executive Management Team in delivering a new generation of cooling technologies to the hyperscale data centre market.

Formerly President of Munters’ Global Data Centre business, where he achieved 5-fold growth over the 4 years to 2018, Yule has a track record of delivering breakthrough cooling technologies to hyperscale data centre operators.

David Craig, Iceotope Technologies CEO, said: “We’re delighted to have someone with Neil’s reputation and understanding of the market joining the Board. His experience of working with the Hyperscale operators, helping them to take the bold steps required to give-up the comfort blanket of traditional yet inefficient, compressor-based air cooling and adopt the new generation of highly-efficient liquid cooling solutions, will be invaluable.”

Yule replied: “I’m proud and elated to be joining Iceotope at the start of this exciting stage in Iceotope’s development, moving beyond small scale development trials and starting to deliver large-scale liquid cooling solutions into new and existing hyperscale data centres. The technologies that David and his team have developed are quite remarkable, delivering levels of efficiency that could only have been dreamt of just a few years ago.”

Asked if he thought the time for liquid cooling had at last arrived, Yule responded: “It’s no longer a question of if the Hyperscale DC operators will adopt this technology, but is instead now just a question of which of them will be the first to announce their move”.
