Opus Energy has launched a new corporate gas product. The company has been supplying gas in the SME sector since 2009 and is now extending its expertise in the area to large businesses. The supplier explains the launch in this sponsored article.
“We decided to expand our offering following conversations with a number of our brokers and customers who were interested in consolidating their energy supplies with a single supplier, making it easier for them to focus on their business at hand,” says Steve James, director of corporate solutions at Opus Energy.
The product was designed with flexibility in mind. Customers can fix prices from 12 months to 36 months, or anything in-between. This helps businesses to counter risk and protect against price changes in the gas market. It also helps businesses to budget more accurately when their gas requirements have been secured for the entire contract term. There are also no volume tolerances for non-daily metered supplies, allowing customers the flexibility both in cases of expansion and improved efficiency. Customers are able to manage staggered and mid-month start dates and benefit from a range of payment terms at no extra cost, says the company.
Opus Energy began offering gas quotes during a preliminary period late last year, then took time to analyse the new product and review requirements to bring it in line with customers’ needs. It says market feedback so far has been positive, with a more than 40% month-to-month increase in won quotes in the last six months.
The company says it is the sixth-largest business energy supplier UK, with over 260,000 business locations on its books. It believes it provides an alternative for customers who want competitively-priced energy with high levels of service: Opus says part of its appeal is its UK-based customer service team, which earned the company its Customer First accreditation. Opus Energy has also been ranked first for SME customer service by Datamonitor. It also claims that 91% of energy supplied to customers comes from clean, renewable sources.
Opus Energy says that commitment to customer service is carried over to the corporate side of the business: Dedicated, experienced account managers and comprehensive support teams so that larger business customers get the support they need for energy contracts which can often span multiple sites.
“With our strong focus on customer service, we are excited to be able to further increase our offerings and supply an exciting new energy product to our larger business customers. We understand that the majority of businesses are incredibly busy and don’t want to worry about managing their energy account, so we’re constantly trying to find new ways to come up with energy offerings that make their lives a little easier,” James continues.
“By expanding to offer corporate gas, we are allowing customers to consolidate their energy supplies and still receive the award-winning customer service they are accustomed to. We look forward to announcing further new products for large businesses later this year.”
